Save the Arts, People!

Today I'm BEYOND AGGRAVATED. Most of my day went just fine, actually, until I got to sixth period. Because that's when I discovered IT.
IT, my friends, is information.
Information that Drama Club will NOT be going on this year!
Let me explain something to you first, so you get the complete picture.
I am anything but an athletically inclined person. I cannot sprint a mile or hit a ball to save my life. Therefore, what do I look to for extracurricular activities, since our super-competitive school sports teams are clearly out of the question? Allow me to answer that for you. I turn to the arts!
My whole life, I've been dramatic. I exaggerate and emphasize and rant until my point has been made, and then some. Anyone who reads this blog should know that. Anyone who has read any of my poetry should know that. Anyone who has even the faintest glimmer of who I am as a person should know that.
Unfortunately, due to budget cuts (yet another example of how Barack Obama has been doing a fat load of nothing), all of the arts have been cut at our school. So not just Drama Club! We're talking dance team, step team, art class, the whole lot.
Thankfully, the student council is, at least, trying to do something about it. My BFFL Jillian is on student council, and she reported that there will be a fundraiser in an attempt to bring back the arts. My school will be selling No Uniform passes, good for the Friday before Halloween, in order to raise the sum of money needed to return the arts to the student body. At least 1,000 students need to purchase if we're going to be successful! IF YOU'RE READING THIS AND YOU GO TO MY SCHOOL, BUY ONE!!!!!!! In fact, even feel free to donate more than the required $5. That would be just fabulous. Come on, people! Open your hearts! It's about time we save the arts!
(Hey, that rhymes!)

Love,
Patty ♥
