OMG! So on Saturday I got the New Moon Soundtrack! *squeal!* I WOULD have gotten it on Friday, when it was released, but SOME people didn't want to drive me about 5 minutes to the local Walmart. My mom surprised me with it on Saturday, and I was thrilled! I listened with my BFFL Jillian ( http://frickenhappiness.blogspot.com/) that night for the first time Saturday night, and here's what I have to say.
Overall, I was fairly impressed with it. Some of the songs weren't exactly my taste, but I'm sure they'll grow on me upon the release of the movie. I didn't like them all, but I liked them for New Moon, if that makes sense. I think they'll go well with the movie. I really liked some of the songs, like "Meet Me on the Equinox" by Death Cab for Cutie, or "Friends" by Band of Skulls. I thought the soundtrack was very good as a whole.
What I really love, though, is the score. "New Moon (The Meadow)" by Alexandre Desplat lived up to my every expectation. It captured the essence of New Moon perfectly. Absolutely haunting, it just pulls your heart in a million directions when you listen to it. Completely brilliant.
So yeah! New Moon Soundtrack! If you haven't already, go buy it, 'cuz it kicks ass! Still not sure? The official Twilight MySpace page has the complete soundtrack available so you can decide if you want it or not! (Pfft, like you wouldn't!)
